Since the 1970s, multi-media and performance artist VALIE EXPORT has developed a politically charged oeuvre that puts the body at the centre of her theoretical and artistic thought. Her works vigorously challenge prevalent social attitudes to women and the status of the female body in art and are inspired by popular television and cinematic imagery.
