Within the strange, stylised world of his objective photographs – cool, direct, and marked by a subtle irony – Peter Granser approaches everyday absurdities. Inthe process of creating images, he employs kitsch and artificiality as analytical tools in works such as “Sun City” (2003), for example, a series about a planned senior-citizens’ community near Phoenix (Arizona), where more than fifty thousand people have decided to spend their twilight years living in standardised, carefullytended residential areas.
