Gohl always works with black-and-white photography, and invariably in interiors. The gaze travels through narrow, gloomy, highly polished corridors, pauses at dishevelled beds, peers through misted windows and voile curtains, only to rest on the tactile detail of some fabric or wall. Her existential images reveal the world as a vast and transitory space through which we pass.
