Since the early Nineties, Marianne Müller has documented her life and immediate surroundings in an ever-growing collection of images. She often photographs herself, details of her body, objects, landscapes, interior and exterior spaces, in diary mode and with an almost democratic touch. Her searching gaze is intimate and public, tender and powerful. At the invitation of Expo ’02, Müller created her video work Standing still, travelling slowly, for which she traveled all over the world, using two cameras, filming simultaneously. Better known abroad than in her own country, her multi-part work The Flock about pigeons in Brooklyn, was shown in the Fotomuseum Winterthur’s exhibition Ordnung & Chaos.
