Lidwien van de Ven became known in the early 1990s for her large diptychs and triptychs in heavy frames. Today she often works with monumental offset prints, which she pastes directly on to walls and buildings. In her photographs, she aims to capture subliminal aspects of religion, society, or politics. White March, for example, is about the famous 1996 protest march in which countless Belgians raised their voices in public against child pornography.
