Sanna Kannisto’s photographs reflect her sensitive interest in nature. Her images were created during biological field research in the rain forests of Brazil, Guinea, and Costa Rica (2002–2006). She describes herself as a “visual researcher,” who approaches flora and fauna with documentarian and scientific interest. A quiet irony is mixed into this seemingly serious, scientific aspect, becoming apparent in sometimes absurd imagery
