For several decades Guido Guidi has been investigating the processes that are transforming the contemporary Italian landscape. Whilst his approach to topographicalimagery links him to Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander, and Lewis Baltz, his questioning attitude toward his subjects is always the same. In his photographs, civilisation and nature, living and dying, are bound together in a fragile, common destiny, and the everyday is often suffused with a poignant beauty.
