Julius Deutschbauer, b. 1961 (Klagenfurt, DE); Gerhard Spring, b. 1962 (Scheibbs, AT), both live and work in Vienna, AT
Since 2000, these two artists have been insistently present with their provocative projects and performances. They publish their messages as posters, which they hang in public spaces, sometimes expressing their opinions on politics, sometimes commenting on the media circus. Deutschbauer/Spring see themselves as mouthpieces and catalysts, posing controversial questions about the ways art and society mutually consume each other.
